Saw a "$19 locksmith" ad? Ask for the full price
Some locksmith ads show a very low number, like a $19 or $29 service call. That's usually only the fee to show up, not the price of the job. The real total often comes after the locksmith arrives, when it's hard to say no.
Whoever you call, ask whether the quote is a fixed total or an estimate, what it includes, and what could change it. With Alex, the price you hear is for the whole job:
- You get the full price on the phone, before he drives over
- If the job turns out different on site, you get the new price first, and extra work only with your OK
- You pay after the job is done, by cash, Venmo, Zelle or Cash App
- The person you talk to on the phone is the person who shows up
